Senior Consultant - IFRS

Responsibilities

  •  Financial Information 
  • Lead a team in executing various mandates
  • Actively participate in the process of preparing clients' quarterly and annual financial statements, including drafting and reviewing the notes to the financial statements, and suggesting improvements or changes based on transactions, changes in clients' policies, and evolving accounting standards.
  • Analyze, prepare, and review journal entries and analyses related to various accounting topics (long-term debt, equity, financial instruments, etc.).
  • Actively participate in accounting analyses for unusual transactions such as acquisitions, debt or equity financing, and other complex accounting treatments.
  • Propose accounting treatments to the client's financial management and review the required related accounting documentation.
  • Prepare deliverables that meet the client's needs and the established service offering.
  • Keep internal procedures and processes up to date to ensure that clients' financial information complies with IFRS standards.
  • Actively collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit of the client's financial statements.
  • Be on the lookout for possible improvements related to the initial mandate.
  • Establish and maintain lasting and constructive relationships with clients.
  • Independently manage files and/or tasks.
  • Prioritize process automation and efficiency using available technologies.
  • Maintain the required training level mandated by the CPA order by selecting training tailored to our clients' needs.
  • Participate in the preparation of service proposals, budget tracking, and hours analysis.
  • Represent ComptInc to consulting clients.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA Auditor designation
  • 4 to 5 years of audit experience in a firm with public companies as clients and 3 to 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Good time and deadline management
  • High-level written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to share knowledge with other team members and clients
  • Ability to delegate and exercise professional judgment
  • Rigor, autonomy, and leadership
  • Experience in team management
  • Specific experience in financial disclosure, external audit, or equivalent
