Job Description

  • Ensure the verification and processing of client payroll, taking into account various levels of complexity and meeting deadlines;
  • Supervise exceptions, more complex elements, and special payments, ensuring accurate and compliant management;
  • Ensure the production of documents in compliance with government requirements, such as Records of Employment, DAS remittances, and other required forms;
  • Audit and reconcile contributions and payments related to employee benefits (pension plans and group insurance), ensuring rigorous management;
  • Properly identify taxable employee benefits in collaboration with the team, ensuring compliance with current tax regulations, and ensure their declaration and processing in payroll systems;
  • Actively participate in year-end payroll activities, including complete year-end cycle management;
  • Handle various client requests professionally and courteously while ensuring high-quality service;
  • Conduct payroll system integration projects and review payroll-related processes;
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of payroll management issues and obligations in Canada;
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, staying up to date with legislative changes;
  • Contribute to improving internal payroll policies and procedures, particularly by strengthening controls, and ensuring their implementation;
  • Support the development of the payroll practice within ComptInc by sharing your expertise and ideas to optimize processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant field;
  • Accreditation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) is an asset;
  • Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in outsourced payroll services;
  • Knowledge of issues related to collective plans and multi-provincial payroll;
  • Proficiency in multiple payroll platforms (EmployerD, Nethris, Ceridian, ADP…) is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel);
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and spoken.
